Why We Built Utably

The problem we saw

Job hunting today feels like shouting into a void. Applications disappear without feedback, resumes are rejected by machines before a human even reads them, and interviews are filled with guesswork. Many talented people end up stuck not because of lack of skill but because the system is stacked against them.

I have lived that frustration myself and seen it in others. Brilliant professionals, capable and deserving, overlooked because they could not play the game the way algorithms demand. Careers left to chance instead of being built with strategy and clarity. That was the starting point. We wanted to fix what is broken.

A personal reflection

When I was studying engineering, I always knew that even though it was fun, it was not what I truly wanted. I was looking for the bigger picture. I am someone who likes to invent, someone who likes to develop, someone who thinks for himself. Naturally I was drawn to consulting, where I could work across industries and solve broader problems.

But there was a challenge. My background was purely technical. My understanding of economics was limited, and if you want to enter consulting, this knowledge is not optional. So I studied. I learned how the interview process worked, how to approach cases, how to think like a consultant. In the end I managed to break through.

That experience left me with a thought: why is there not a place where this process becomes easier? A place where you can enter your data and let technology help you see what is possible. Even if you are not sure what you want, why not explore and compare paths with the help of AI? Why not build a platform that understands not only your skills but also your wishes, your lifestyle, your vision for the future? And once you find a fitting path, why not have the same platform guide you with the knowledge and training you need to break into that field?

This is what we want to build. Not just another tool, but one platform that takes you by the hand and walks the journey with you. A place where you can discover your strengths, find mentors, and grow. Where learning feels less like a lonely grind and more like collaboration.

The seed of an idea

For years I carried an innovation diary. Whenever an idea came to me, I wrote it down, researched it, and tried to imagine what it might become. One thought kept returning: careers should not be left to scattered tools and chance encounters. There should be one platform that helps you apply, understand yourself, grow your skills, and track your progress.

For a long time I lacked the courage to act on it. What made the difference this time was not just the problem but the people. My co founders and I gave each other the strength to start. Alone I might have kept filling notebooks. Together we decided to make it real.

What we are building

Utably is not another resume builder. It is an AI powered career platform designed to support people at every stage of their journey. From crafting applications that pass screening systems without losing authenticity, to uncovering personal strengths, to mastering interviews, to keeping everything organised in one place.

We believe AI should not replace your voice. It should amplify it. Our tools help you tell your story in a way that is clear, compelling, and true to who you are. You do not need to be a designer to have a professional CV or a strategist to map out your next step. You only need your story. We help you tell it.

The values that guide us

From the beginning we agreed on four principles:

  • Transparency: No hidden traps or deceptive paywalls. You always know what you are getting.
  • Human AI collaboration: Technology should support you, not replace you.
  • Careers not clicks: Every feature ties back to real world outcomes, not vanity metrics.
  • Accessibility: Tools built for everyone, not just those who can afford expensive coaching.

These values shape every feature we design. They are not slogans. They are reminders of why we started.

The journey ahead

We are still at the beginning. Building Utably has been a steep learning curve so far. Some days the flow is so strong that time disappears. Weeks merge into months, and the output is beyond what I imagined possible. Other days are filled with doubt, questions about success and failure, questions about what this journey will cost. If I had known at the start how difficult it would be, perhaps I would never have begun. But now, after everything I have learned, I cannot stop.

Why we built Utably is simple. Because careers should not be left to luck. Because people deserve tools that see them as more than keywords. Because the one who never starts can never succeed.

This is only the beginning, and that is exactly why it matters.
